Get To Know Dr. Yasmina Wright

Dr. Yasmina Wright, better known as Dr. Yas, was born and raised in Philadelphia. She discovered her interest in dentistry when she was in the third grade after she and her mother visited the Springfield mall and encountered an elderly man with missing teeth. Even at this young age, Dr. Yas knew the effect and impact a smile could have. 

She attended Hampton University in Virginia where she received a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Afterward, Dr. Yas earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Howard University College of Dentistry. After practicing General Dentistry for eight years, she decided to go into a Pediatric Dental Residency at NYU Langone Hospitals where she earned an Advanced Training Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. She was inspired to open her own practice by all the support from her teachers and community growing up, and felt it was time to give back and become a supportive pillar in the city she has always called home.

During her free time, Dr. Yas loves spending time with her daughter Imoni and son Ilijah. They enjoy going to festivals, swimming in lakes, and taking their dog, Tiki, on long walks. Dr. Yas has also been practicing Tae Kwon Do since childhood.
